Ubiquitous distributed objects with CORBA.

چکیده
Database interoperation is becoming a bottleneck for the research community in biology. In this paper, we first discuss the question of interoperability and give a brief overview of CORBA. Then, an example is explained in some detail: a simple but realistic data bank of STSs is implemented. The Object Request Broker is the media for communication between an object server (the data bank) and a client (possibly a genome center). Since CORBA enables easy development of networked applications, we meant this paper to provide an incentive for the bioinformatics community to develop distributed objects.

A Corba Based Framework for Universal Personal Computing on the Internet
This paper presents a CORBA based framework for universal personal computing (UPC) where nomadic computing on the Internet is supported for both mobile users and mobile terminals. In the UPC environment, a mobile user, identified by a globally unique logical identifier, can access computing resources anywhere on the Internet, using any available mobile or stationary terminal attached to any net...

Universal Personal Computing (UPC) supports nomadic computing on the Internet by allowing mobile users to access their personalized computing resources anywhere on the Internet using any available terminal. Since UPC must deal with heterogeneous systems in a mobile environment, independence of computing platforms and support of portable objects are imperative, which leads to the choice of Java....
متن کاملAnalytical Study of Object Components for Distributed and Ubiquitous Computing Environment
The Distributed object computing is a paradigm that allows objects to be distributed across a heterogeneous network, and allows each of the components to interoperate as a unified whole. A new generation of distributed applications, such as telemedicine and e-commerce applications, are being deployed in heterogeneous and ubiquitous computing environments. The objective of this paper is to explo...
متن کاملA Novel Approach for Mapping the OSI-SM / TMN Model to ODP / OMG CORBA
Over the last years, OMG CORBA has been emerging as the ubiquitous technology for building distributed systems. Since the TMN is a distributed system, a lot of research has addressed the issue of using CORBA as its base technology. Most solutions have concentrated mainly on interoperability aspects between OSI-SM and CORBA, assuming that OSI-SM will be used at the TMN element and element manage...
